Your Academic CV is one of the documents you can use to package your application.

So how do you go about it?

Firstly, you need a template that outlines all aspects of your profile. As a rule goes, if you do not show it, it will not be counted for you in your profile. So are the aspects of your profile. Here are the aspects of your profile your Academic CV must show:

OBJECTIVE/PROFILE

ACADEMIC HISTORY/QUALIFICATIONS

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

ADDITIONAL TRAINING

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS/AFFILIATIONS

Secondly, you need to know what to say in each section to ensure that your profile stands out.

To do this, you need to ask yourself the question, what are the admissions committee looking to see in each aspect of my profile and how best do I show it?

So for example, when it comes to Research Experience, the admissions committee want to see that you have a well articulated research interest and that you have got some research experience from previous academic endeavors or at least that you have an understanding of research methods and tools.

The best way to show this is to outline research interests that align with the main research areas of the course you are applying to and to talk about your previous research projects you did perhaps, during your undergraduate degree or as part of a professional work setting. Ensure that when you talk about your research experience you focus on demonstrating that you are skilled in key areas like posing research questions, curating and performing literature reviews, performing statistical analysis, developing experimental setups and drafting research reports.
