Scholarship Success: Truth or Fiction?

Feb 09, 2024

Hello Scholarship Chaser,

I hope you had a great weekend and that you are up to a great start this week. I am!

So over the weekend I read this article about problems and challenges and how a little bit of a change in approach could mean the start of a long lasting solution.

Being part of this email list, you have a challenge or problem so to speak and here’s it:

**I want to secure admission and scholarship(s) to study abroad, relocate with my family and thrive.**

You see, a lot of people get stuck with this problem, i.e. they find no solution, simply because of the wrong approach.

The truth is for every problem there is a solution. Therefore, for there is a solution for you to secure admission and scholarship(s) to study abroad.

Solving problems entails 4 key aspects which I’ll break down below:

Cost is what you are willing to pay or the pain you are willing to go through to find the solution. So in order to win scholarships, are you willing to continue trying to see what works out over time? This is fair, and it’s your choice, I respect it OR are you willing to seek the guidance of a trusted coach? Remember this, Coaching works and I’ve shared loads of testimonials with you.

So the question is: what cost are you willing to bear to achieve scholarship success? The answer is: it depends on what you can afford. Coaching accelerates results but there is also a place for figuring it out yourself if you cannot afford coaching, just that it would take you a bit longer.

Remember my story as shared in my free study abroad webinar? I spend almost 2 years in self discovery. Of getting rejections and admissions with no scholarships. If I knew then what I know now, I would have found a reliable coach and paid for their service asap. You know me, I want accelerated results.

Trade-off ie what kind of solution you are willing to accept. Are you happy with a half solution now whilst you work on the full solution? In practical terms would you rather come to the U.K. for a masters first, build your profile and then relocate to Canada via a PhD program, Express Entry or Work Permit?

So the question is: what trade off is worth it? The answer is: Any trade off that keeps you on track to achieving your study abroad goals is worth it.

I once interviewed Margaret whose final plan was to come to Canada but she accepted an offer to study in Sweden. Not only did she have a great time there but she also build a strong profile that attracted a PhD position in Alberta, Canada.

Time and Efforts ie what amount of work are you willing to put in. Are you willing to put in 1 month of effort? Submit 3 applications ? Email 5 supervisors? Examine 10 programs you would like to apply to?

So the question here is how much time and effort is enough? The answer is: you must put in as much effort as it takes to achieve study abroad success.

Remember Mbeki who emailed 150 supervisors or in my case where I examined all the Chemical Engineering Masters Programs in Canada. Time and efforts must be applied until you achieve success. That is how it works.

So there you have it. The solution to your scholarship challenge has 3 aspects: cost, tradeoff and time/effort. So think long and hard about these aspects and decide how you want to solve your scholarship challenge.

As usual, I remain dedicated to helping you achieve your study abroad dreams.
