WANT TO WIN SCHOLARSHIPS? PUSH BEYOND YOUR COMFORT ZONE - PART 1 / 3

If you want to win scholarships, you have to push yourself beyond the familiar territories.

It doesn’t matter your age, grade, or course of study. You must push yourself.

When you are starting out, you will not be good at developing competitive application documents that can win scholarships.

This is fine. I started out the same as well. My brother said my first SOP looked like a facebook post but look  at me now, the difference is like comparing day to night.

I am in the final year of completing a fully funded PhD in Chemical Engineering and I have won over $400,000 in scholarships since I arrived in Canada.

If you want to win scholarships and study abroad, you have to push yourself beyond your comfort zone!

But there is a problem here.

Most of us are not good at pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zone.

As a study abroad mentor and coach, I come across thousands of people every month with ambitious dreams of studying abroad under scholarship. 

But when it comes to taking actions like investing in themselves to learn the strategies and tactics (the system) that win scholarships, the excuses begin to emerge. 

It is even more heartbreaking when I hear excuses from those that have already invested $997 in the masterclass. I hear things like:

“Work is really busy now”. 

“I am currently traveling and away from home”, la la la

Look, when I set out on my journey to secure scholarships, I had just started a business selling and installing child safety products in the Lekki area. I had a very energetic 2 year old boy that was very clingy and I was taking a course in sales. 

But I did not let that stop me. I worked on my study abroad goals in addition to all of these activities because for me there was no other option order than scholarships.

If work is really busy, that is fine, simply look into your schedule and rearrange stuff. You have to say no to certain things in order to create time to chase your study abroad goals.

The truth is that winning scholarships is hard. It is a competitive affair. You would not just achieve it by doing the usual stuff. You have to do things differently. You must operate beyond your comfort zone.

So how do you get beyond your comfort zone? What lies beyond this comfort zone?
