Win Scholarships like Novak Djokovic

Feb 09, 2024

Dear Future Global Expats,

Greetings and I hope this email finds you well.

So today I am going to share a very important aspect of the power of the mind, that I learnt from Novak Djokovic.

I believe we know who Djokovic is.

He is the best tennis player in the world. In fact, he just won the US Open, one of the top tennis competitions in the world.

Also, he has won a total of 23 top tennis competitions. Let’s just say he is the best in the world and also the greatest of all time.

With such an amazing record, I strongly believe there is something to be learnt from his approach to competition.

Remember that winning admissions and scholarships means competing against other candidates. To increase your chances of winning, we can learn something from the greatest of all times in Tennis.

So, let’s learn from Djokovic. Check out this video of Djokovic being interviewed after he just won the US open and let’s analyze his thought process:

Here is the analysis:

Djokovic said:

“I am not really surprised because I know how much work and dedication and energy I put into trying to be in this position so I know that I deserve this”

This is a perfect example of ACTION. Djokovic has put in the work, the dedication and the energy. This applies to you as well. You must take action and not just any kind of action but you must outwork the competition if you want to win scholarships. Do not just do what others are doing. Take that online course that is relevant to your course of study. Seek out volunteer experience and do not just do it so you can copy it into your CV, ensure that you join and make an impact that you can proudly talk about in your application documents.

Djokovic said:

“and I always believe in myself, in my own capabilities, in my skills, in my quality as a tennis player to be able to deliver when it matters” and “Age is just a number”

This is MINDSET in action. You cannot win scholarships if you do not believe that you are capable of doing so, that you have an academic background and work experience that you could build upon to produce a competitive profile. Ask yourself this question:

What do I believe in when it comes to winning scholarships?

The answer to this question will tell you a lot about your mindset. Do you believe that you cannot win scholarships with a second class lower degree?

Do you believe that your study gap is a limiting factor?

The truth is that these are just limiting beliefs standing between you and scholarships that you need to address.

So to conclude, if you want to win scholarships, do it like Djokovic.

Take ACTION. Work on your MINDSET.

As usual, I remain dedicated to supporting you achieve your study abroad dreams.
